Lightning Bugs, Late Summer Nights, and Lazy Mornings

We are all really enjoying the release from "school" responsibilities and schedules. Lately we have been staying outside till past 9 pm while we sit and watch the boys play, ride bikes or catch lightning bugs. Our evenings (and days, so far) are pleasant with cool breezes and low humidity. The boys and I have found some new shows on NAT GEO that keep us up until 11 pm or even later which is followed by all of us sleeping until 9 am or later (We also love Dallas Swat but shhhh, don't tell the responsible parents that I let them watch that). We are currently learning about a group of monkeys who live in Gabon, Africa through a scientist who sleeps in a tree house for 6 weeks. It is truly fascinating. Bryan has gotten himself and the kids hooked on a show called Swamp Wars where they watch crazy guys catch snakes, crocs, lizards and other reptiles.

In about a week we leave on our Summer Adventure across the U.S. to Arkansas and Oklahoma for a month. To pack for a month is overwhelming to say the least but the packing has replaced any anxiety about the actual drive of 18 plus hours... alone... with two little boys.... So today we are lazy, we sleep late and stay up late and play in between and we enjoy these Summer days and nights.
