Goings On...

Hudson tested for his Team Eagle Orange Stripe belt on Saturday. However after the test, to our surprise, he was promoted to the regular belt classes for the 6-8 year olds. He was also given this medal for being "best student" and his picture will hang in the Dojo until the next promotion tests.
Below the boys are playing at the National Botanical Garden. This picture was taken right before Harrison took his blue shovel and hit the little boy beside him. When asked "Why?", his face rendered, "why - because I want-to-tant-to!" For those who don't know this, it is the song that we sing about Harrison because he is a strong-willed quiet storm-like little boy. He did have to sit out for his behavior.

After visiting The Art Institute and wrapping up all the admission paper work on Friday we toured the city. We ate lunch at Spike Mendelsohn's (from Bravo's Top Chef) restaurant, The Good Stuff Eatery AND He was there!!!!! After planning out what I would say to him when he gave us our food I chickened out - I was star struck, oh well maybe next time. After lunch we walked to the Capital, National Botanical Garden & Air and Space Museum.

Below is "The Good Stuff Melt" loaded with cheese and mushrooms. The picture does not do it justice, it looks greasy, it was not, that is the melted cheese. The bread is homemade and all the ingredients are organic and local. It is one of the best burger places we have eaten and they have wonderful shakes. We tried the Toasted Marshmellow which tasted like a real toasted marshmellow from a camp fire and the Cookies and Cream loaded with tons of the inside of the oreo cookie and some of the outside.
