I don't usually put random post on the blog, well at least not without pictures but I don't want to get too behind so I will tell you all about our lazy weekend. Friday night Bryan and I went to see W while the kiddos spent the night at Papoo's. We enjoyed the movie and indulged in the whole experience with popcorn and candy. We found it more sympathetic (not to be confused with empathetic) and sad than funny.
Saturday is football and chili day every weekend during the season so Papoo came down and the Bentley's walked across the street to join us for the Alabama v Ole Miss game. No we didn't want Alabama to win! But I thought Ole Miss played a tough game and I enjoy watching Houston Nutt coach a game even if it isn't Arkansas.
Sunday Bryan and Hudson built a tool box and bird house and then we took the kids down to Papoo's while we went to the Parade of Homes. There is a fabulous new area being built in East Montgomery that is beside a large farm. The idea is European style living with a twist... that homeowners can grow their own food in the community farm as well as it being available in the market and upscale restaurant that is in the little square along with a gym and other retail spaces. The homes are not large but they are beautifully built with high end green materials. It made me want to redecorate our home! Then I remind myself this is not our forever home and it would be a waste of money since we have completed the main upgrades needed for resale. Note to those of you not in the military, resale is a way of life until retirement. To end this regular, lazy, fall weekend I had put in a roast early Sunday morning and when we got home it was falling apart tender. I also made mashed potatoes, corn, green beans and rolls. I did take some pictures this weekend and will post them soon.
Thanks for checking in!
