Every so often I get these wild ideas to challenge myself in the kitchen by throwing dinner parties for our friends, each party has gotten progressively more difficult. But that is the part I enjoy I suppose! This party was no different. After being inspired by having a 6 course dinner at Michael's Table for Valentines I wondered if I could pull this off and while not being able to sleep soundly due to pregnancy, ideas came flooding in late at night about what to serve and how. Sooooo... Saturday night was the big 6 course dinner party for our friends and with alot of planning and prep work it went pretty smoothly. Here is the menu.1st Course - Wontons cups filled with shrimp filling and mango/shrimp salsa
2nd Course - Spicy corn chowder and green chili/cheese mini muffins
3rd Course -Pork tenderloin, horseradish mash potatoes, green bean bundle
4th Course - greens topped with avocado, red onion, cherry tomatoe
5th Course - Cheese course, a triple cream, a bleu cheese, and a smoke applewood cheddar
6th Course - Raspberry breadpudding with Kentucky bourbon sauce
The guests were given a course to pair a wine, they did a great job choosing and presenting their wines for each course. It lasted about 3 hours and was really fun evening. Thanks Bryan for being my Seux chef! Oh by the way the order sounds funny however, this was a french inspired 6 course meal.
