As some of you know we have been under a tremendous amount of stress concerning the riff board. Translation: Bush decided to cut back Officers and certain career fields by certain percentages in certain year groups. Further translation: Space and Missiles is amongst the cuts in the year group that Bryan got in and of the 122 13S Officers they had to cut 8. I know what you are thinking, if he is on the bottom 8 of 122 he has done something wrong, well the cause of concern was not that, he loves his job and the Air Force and his record proves it. The reason for lack of sleep was that he is currently not being used in Space and Missiles, instead he is teaching ASBC and the theory was that the Air Force would keep those who were of use to them in Space and Missiles not the ones doing other jobs at the present time. Bottom line: He found out this morning at 8:15 am after having met his "potential replacement" yesterday that he will be RETAINED by the Air Force which also means that he will never have to go this stress and worry again. Don't get me wrong the Air Force besides having to meet your potential replacement handles these situations pretty well, they attempt to bribe you into voluteering to punch and offer one years salary in severence. If you choose to take your chances and you are cut you do still get 6 months salary in severence and they let you work for like 6 more months while you are looking for a job and they give you your full GI bill whether you have used it or not so we would have been fine but I did mention a few lines ago that Bryan loves his job and the Air Force, so today we celebrate and know that if he chooses he will have this job until retirement, who else can say that???? Thank you USAF!
